Odalys Chalet Nuance de gris

The chalet had a lovely view and a jacuzzi, and the beds were fine, but the kitchen and bathrooms were poorly equipped. The couch and chairs could also use cushions to make them more comfortable. We chose to clean the place ourselves to avoid the €150 cleaning fee, but there were no cleaning supplies or products, and the only vacuum cleaner was broken. When the owner came to inspect, he decided it wasn’t clean enough and charged us €150 despite our efforts. There was no room to discuss it, and it felt like a scam.

The accommodation itself was decent, which made the choice of adjacent guests such a shame. It felt like we were stuck between stag party weekends.

The only real drawback is how dark the chalet is, with little natural light. Otherwise it’s magnificent: very spacious, sleeps 10, with five bedrooms, four bathrooms, five toilets, a sauna, and a jacuzzi. A free cable car to Alpe d’Huez is just a two-minute walk away.

The garden wasn’t being maintained, which was a major irritation and really spoiled the otherwise excellent first impression. Inside, though, the apartment was modern, clean, and very spacious. It was well equipped, with plenty of bathrooms, which was a real help when travelling with several children of the same age.
