Les Valtieres du Mont Saint Michel

The manager was so sweet, and breakfast was really good. Our bedroom had a great view of Mont Saint Michel, and the place was very peaceful and quiet. The quiet hours and having to check in before 8 felt a little odd to us, though I guess that's normal for a B&B. Just a heads-up, after 8 pm the only restaurants open were on Mont Saint Michel, so we had to pay for parking to get there, and the restaurants were pretty pricey.

Breakfast was basic but really good, and the clean room had a nice view of Mont St Michel. It feels more like a very smart hostel than a hotel. The nearest big shop is 12 km away, so pick up snacks for the night there. If you're wise, bring a travel kettle in the car. Stay one night, then move on.

Breakfast was nice and simple, though I was a bit disappointed the bread was frozen. You can use the breakfast room if you want to eat your dinner there, too. The B&B is less than 10 minutes from mont saint Michel and has good views. The room was clean and pleasant, with a big shower and good pressure, but not many extras. The TV is tiny and the WiFi is slow, but that's good enough out in the middle of nowhere. It's close to the road, so there's some daytime noise, though not much traffic at night. Payment is cash or cheque only, so come prepared.

The woman looking after the place, who I think is the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful. She speaks English and was very accommodating. From the lodge you can see the dazzling lights of Mont Saint Michel in the distance at night. Our room was large, simple, and clean, with space for three. There was a hot shower and bath, and the toilet was separate. Breakfast was a simple spread of French bread, yogurt, cheese, coffee, and more.
