Domaine de l'Aufrene

There’s lovely greenery all around, and we felt welcome. They also gave us great dinner recommendations in Hyères.

Franck and Colette were so warm and kind to us. We visited in spring and had a wonderful time, with plenty of room to explore the region or simply take it easy by the pool. We hope we can come back someday.

Franck made us feel very welcome and had lots of great tips for discovering Hyeres. Our room was spacious and clean, and this charming Domaine felt like a real gem. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

The extra €45 per night was a real disappointment, especially since we’d said from the start that our budget was tight. We were already stretching to pay €210 a night for three people on a long trip. We thought breakfast came with a Chambres D’hôte or B&B, but we were charged for it, plus taxes on top. I spoke to Franck straight away, but he kept referring to the website instead of hearing us out. He said the distinction was that we’d booked an apartment rather than a room. Franck and Colette were friendly and accommodating, and the home itself is beautiful, so under normal circumstances I’d have rated this four stars. The welcome was appreciated, but went on for too long. The pool was small and not well maintained, and the sitting area shown in the photos wasn’t useful.
