Amazing.
The location is convenient, close to everything, and the welcome was friendly enough. The street is lively, but quiets down after 11:30 pm, which is handy if you want to sleep. There’s no air conditioning, so the managers kindly gave us a fan. Unfortunately it was filthy, with dust and fingerprints, and the same grime was on the bathroom hairdryer and even the light switches. Our room was fairly spacious and looked onto a small Provençal street, but cleaning was poor: there were suspicious marks in the bathroom, stains in the shower, and the toilet needed a thorough clean with drain cleaner. The reception is dated, and the carpets really should be replaced. Parking is the main drawback, and costs €12. It’s adequate for one night, but I wouldn’t choose it for a holiday.
A few small boiler problems came up, but the warm welcome made them easy to overlook. The rooms and bathrooms have been renovated by the new owner, who has done it well. The hotel sits right in the center of old Hyères, and we found the welcome pleasant. There isn’t any free parking nearby. We’d be happy to return.
We’ve been coming back every so often for several years, and the owners always do their best to make guests feel welcome, with a warm smile. It’s a small, family-run hotel, just how we like them, on a quiet little pedestrian street in the city center. The location is ideal on the edge of Hyères’ old town, and the welcome is always pleasant. Over the years, the decor has become more charming, intimate, and delightful. We wholeheartedly recommend it. Thanks to the owners for taking such good care of their guests. GS and AM
The musty smell was noticeable as soon as we came in, which let the place down. The room was pleasant, though nothing exceptional, and the service was basic.
