Nearly every pitch seemed to be close to the road, so it was very, very noisy, and there weren’t many quiet spots. We paid 41 euros just for parking, even though the town has free parking in a peaceful setting. We couldn’t use the electricity because we didn’t have an adapter, but the price was still 41 euros. We don’t understand why this campsite charges so much.

The staff were incredibly helpful, and all the services were spot on. There’s a great bar and restaurant on site too. We had a lovely stay, with wonderful snow at Christmas, and it looks like a good choice for summer as well. Perfect for a ski break.

The pool is large and very good, and the campsite is clean with modern facilities. It’s also a useful base for cycling, although it’s quite a way from the city. During the day, the place is lovely. At night, though, we just couldn’t get a decent sleep, so I wouldn’t come back. There was noise from the nearby road and from guests whose children stayed up late playing loudly, or who had loud conversations as they walked around in the middle of the night. Management added to it by letting karaoke run until 23:45. The staff generally seemed uninterested. When we arrived, we were given a pitch that was already occupied, and the receptionist kept insisting it was free. At the restaurant, the waiter served food while on the phone. When we tried to order, our chosen starter was unavailable, as were all but two of the six starters on the menu. One small annoyance was the touchscreen combination lock on the toilet block. It’s awkward to use, and I imagine it would be especially difficult for someone with a visual impairment since it gives no tactile feedback. I’m not sure why it’s needed. Are they really concerned that non-guests might use the toilets?

The chalet was compact but had everything we needed, and both the heating and hot water worked well. The restaurant and bar on site were a nice extra. We got a very pleasant welcome from the staff, who were especially helpful. Wifi was poor in some areas.

The valley is a lovely setting, though the town is a bit of a distance away. There was quite a lot of construction work, which made mornings noisy. The pitches felt small, and with the site so full, three toilets weren’t really enough, though the showers were good. I’d stay again for a night if I was passing through.
