Les Sauges

After nine days of hiking and eight different places to stay, we ended our trip at Les Sauges. The welcome was warm, the accommodation spacious and well equipped, and the beds comfortable. There’s also a lovely terrace. It’s beautifully situated in this charming town. Kudos to the owner, this place is a gem.

The river, port, and shops are all close by, with Carrefour less than 100 meters away. Marie welcomed us warmly and gave us excellent tips on things to do in the area. We spent a family weekend in this small house, with its flower-filled courtyard and veranda. The apartment was spotless, fully equipped, and beautifully decorated. I’d definitely recommend it! :)

There’s a supermarket right across the street, and it’s just a two-minute walk into the small village, where there’s at least one nice restaurant with tasty daily specials. The house is self-catering, but that worked fine for us. We stayed with our three children, aged 10, 12, and 14, and they loved playing football in the park and playground just across from the house. It’s a lovely, fully equipped mini-house and a handy base for visiting Utah Beach and other D-Day sights.

The covered terrace was a real highlight, perfect for a barbecue with family or friends. Les Sauges is spotless and beautifully decorated, with a nice mix of modern style and refurbished vintage furniture. The accommodation is functional, and the owner is very friendly and attentive. Shops and the village center are an easy walk away, with the Carrefour supermarket even closer. I highly recommend it for a weekend visiting the D-Day landing beaches and nearby museums.
