La chambre aux hirondelles

Lovely people.

We had a clean room and bathroom, and everything was in order. Breakfast was good, especially the owners’ excellent homemade jams, and parking was available inside the farmhouse beside the house. The B&B is a great fit for a couple, in a quiet area about a 15-minute drive from Strasbourg. The two people running it were genuinely kind and helpful. They made us feel at home, even booked a restaurant for us, and gave us advice on getting into Strasbourg. Highly recommended.

For visiting Strasbourg, it’s 14 km away. We parked at the “Poterie park and ride,” with the tram only a few meters away. A modest €4.20 day ticket can be validated at the tram machines each time you use it, and covers up to seven people traveling with you. We stayed three nights and would happily return next time we’re in the area. The accommodation looked just like the website photos and was spotlessly clean. It was very quiet, and courtyard parking was convenient and secure. Breakfasts were generous. Claudine and Serge were friendly, attentive hosts who generously shared excellent tips for exploring the region.

The breakfast was generous, and Serge’s homemade jams were delicious. The room was lovely, with a small snack area, and the bathroom came well equipped with toiletries and soft towels.
