Trendy Hostel

The hostel doesn't match its advertised photos and is a total dump. There was nothing "trendy" about it. When I arrived to check in, the man at the counter didn't know how to check anyone in and left me waiting two hours for the next person on duty. There was nowhere safe to keep my luggage while I waited. There's no elevator, so I had to carry my heavy bags up a large flight of stairs. The room had 22 beds and one toilet, packed so tightly there wasn't room for luggage (see photo). Luggage was all over the floor, a tripping hazard. There was no soap in the toilet, and the empty dispenser fell off the wall when I tried it (see photo). A bunk bed blocked the bathroom door, so it hit the bed whenever someone used it at night and woke the people sleeping there. Lights switched on randomly in the night and wouldn't turn off. The kitchen was filthy, tiny and poorly equipped (see photo). The bedroom door didn't close properly, so anyone could pull it open. Strangers seemed to live in the lobby and would make their way into empty beds at night. Roommates were rude and talked loudly on the phone in the early hours. One man snored loudly, which can't be helped, but someone banged the wall above his bed to stop him, waking everyone else. An absolute joke.

I paid online for a night at this hostel, but on arrival they said it was fully booked and couldn't offer any solution. I was left without a place to stay and had to sleep on the street until I found another hostel at the last minute. Very disappointing. Be careful and double-check before booking.

We got there around 11:40pm, and the guy working said, "we close at 11pm". Our plane had been delayed, but explaining that didn't help. A girl staying in the room let us in and pointed out the spare bunks. Several mattresses were moldy, and our room was next to the washroom, where there was a foul smell. The toilets had no working plumbing, and feces literally wouldn't flush. Don't bother, save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else.

There was dirt everywhere, and this was the worst place in Paris. I’d paid for my reservation and got to the hostel at 1 a.m., but nobody from the service was there. Around 3 a.m., some guy threw me out because I didn’t have a card. Instead of explaining what was going on, he just said it was impossible. I don’t recommend it at all.
