Best Western Bridge Hotel Lyon East

The pool was a big hit with our three kids, and our mezzanine family room was clean and comfortable. Anne and Francoise were wonderful, going out of their way to make things work for us. The owners’ kindness gives the place a relaxed, family feel, and the breakfast was great, with quality products. It’s a real gem. I hardly ever give a full 5 out of 5, but this one deserves it. We’ll be back.

We found a delicious pizza restaurant about a 20-minute walk away, which was useful since there’s no restaurant on site and the bar was closed during our visit. The hotel itself is right by the River Rhone on the eastern side of Lyons, a great overnight stop on the way to the Alps. Our room was clean and modern, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The continental buffet breakfast had lots of choice. There’s plenty of free parking outside, with no height restriction, so it works for vans and roof boxes. The pool area looked lovely and would be gorgeous in summer.

The riverside setting was quiet, and the hotel worked really well for our family. Our children loved the pool and outdoor space, while the rooms and shared areas were very nice. The owners were kind and hospitable, and the location was ideal for getting to the world cup stadium in Lyon.

The owners gave us a lovely welcome and were very helpful, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The modern decor was refurbished about 7 years ago. It’s handy for an overnight stay near Lyon St-Exupery airport, while still being outside a built-up area. The one downside was aircraft noise starting before 0500, though that’s to be expected near the airport. I’d definitely stay again.
