Domaine de Jouarre

Breakfast was the best part, with local French cheese, charcuterie, homemade jam, fresh orange juice, croissants, pains au chocolat, and plenty more. We had the house and garden, including the pool, to ourselves all morning. We stayed in the Sauge room, and the whole house has a warm, thoughtfully put-together feel that made us comfortable right away. Sophie was quick to respond even before we booked, and arriving after midnight with our two boys was no problem. We were looking for somewhere to wind down after Disneyland Paris and two weeks at the beach. This is now on our list for ending a holiday in style.

A lovely, restful stay, with a great breakfast and welcoming hosts. The Champagne villages are about an hour’s drive through fields and vineyards.

The heated pool and comfortable room made our stay especially enjoyable. Sophie and Lionel's property is in a beautiful, peaceful setting, decorated with real taste, and breakfast should please even the most discerning palate. We felt right at home here and would gladly return. The lovingly converted farmhouse is a real find east of Paris, whether you're passing through from the Atlantic or hoping to visit Paris without spending the evening in the city's bustle. The couple who run it were among the best hosts we've had in a long time, and you can tell they put a lot of care into welcoming guests. The garden and pool are beautiful and wonderfully quiet, and the well-kept rooms are tastefully furnished and spotless. Breakfast was a highlight too, with fresh fruit, freshly squeezed juice, and quality regional products. There isn't much nearby, though several restaurants are a 5-15 minute drive away. Highly recommended.
