Campanile NATURE - Metz Sud Jouy aux Arches

The mattress and shower were good, but I missed having any personal touch. The room smelled really bad, and the floor was so dusty that moving a table kicked up clouds. I’d booked the family room for four and told them ahead of time we’d arrive late. The two sofa beds hadn’t been made up, and there were two pillows missing from the single beds. You also need to arrange access to the parking lot after 10 pm. It could work for a stopover, but our arrival wasn’t very smooth.

I especially appreciated that checkout wasn’t until 11:30 am. My youngest and I had breakfast while my husband and eldest slept in. The only thing I’d suggest is adding shutters or light blockers to the loft windows. We had a lovely family loft room while travelling from Belgium to France. The building is neat, modern, and impeccably clean. Our room had the usual kettle for tea and coffee, a beautiful shower and bathroom, and perfect beds and pillows. The staff were friendly and helpful, and even spoke English for us ignorant folk who don’t speak French. I’m not sure why this place only has 3 stars. Thanks for making our trip more enjoyable.

The room was already warm and at a nice temperature when we arrived. It was excellent and just as described, with a lovely shower room and a separate toilet. The hotel had only reopened a month or two earlier after renovations. Check-in was easy, it’s very convenient for the motorway, and there’s plenty of parking behind a secure gate. I’d aim to stay here again when travelling this way.

A welcome surprise among all the cheap, bad hotels in the area. The staff are friendly, the rooms are modern and very clean, and the bar stays open even at night. I think this hotel deserves a much higher rating than it currently has.
