Hôtel & SPA Les Violettes

The food was amazing, the staff were friendly, and I loved the spa. The hotel is in a lovely spot, with an impressive Abbey right next door. I've stayed here three times over the past seven years, as a couple, with my daughter, and with a group of girlfriends. I'd happily return. The rooms I've tried, including superior romantic, traditional alsacian, and the gentleman's rooms, were all clean, comfortable, and excellent.

We couldn't book a dinner table at the restaurant because it was fully booked, which made an already upsetting anniversary stay even worse. We'd chosen and paid for an expensive room with a fireplace because the description said it worked, and I'd been looking forward to sitting beside a real fire. Instead, we were given a room that looked nothing like the website photos. It had a fireplace, but staff told us it didn't work, and we learned that none of the hotel's fireplaces were working. That felt misleading. When we asked for the room we'd paid for or any solution, staff refused to move us, shrugged, and offered no help. Our romantic anniversary evening was ruined, and we're considering leaving. I'm shocked by how disappointing and dismissive the treatment was. I strongly don't recommend this hotel.

The nearby geocaches made for a fun walk, and there was a vineyard close by for wine tasting. We loved our family getaway here and everything at the hotel. We'll definitely be back!

Tom's exceptional service was the highlight, and the bar was cozy with live music. The room was cozy too. The spa, though, felt crowded and worn out, and all the lounge beds were marked reserved, so there was nowhere to relax. The pool was cold and looked out over a construction site, which hadn't been mentioned. Dining and breakfast were poor for the price, with little choice, and the restaurant had a cafeteria-style setup. Aside from Tom and the bar, the stay disappointed us. We can't recommend the restaurant or the hotel.
