Brit Hotel du Dauphin

On our cycle ride home from Paris, we stopped here for a night. The staff were so kind and helpful, even letting us leave our bikes there until mid-afternoon. Breakfast cost an extra €10, but was worth it. Thanks to everyone for putting up with our pigeon French and being so welcoming.

The hilltop location in the city's historic center is good, but I didn't sleep well here and wouldn't choose it for a relaxing stay. The hotel is old-style, with lots of wood, and it seemed like every floorboard and door creaked. I could hear the neighbors above and beside me, especially when the people next door kept up their activities until 2 a.m. 😅😭 There was no air conditioning or ventilation system in my room. Opening the window created a draft and too much noise. Maybe an upper floor would be better, but I'm not sure. 😁 The food selection is limited, and vegetarians may want to think about that before booking. The internet was slow too, slower than my mobile 4G. 😔 That's it.

The WiFi was excellent, and parking wasn't a problem. The staff were very pleasant, and the clean room had new fittings, though it was a bit noisy and there was no aircon. There were no tea or coffee facilities, and nothing in English on the TV. The attached brasserie was good and cheap. We paid all our restaurant charges at the end. I'd go again.

I really enjoyed my one-night stay, and the room and bathroom felt spacious compared with other hotels I've stayed at in France, including Paris. The onsite restaurant was a nice touch. The only downside was how thin the walls were. You can hear conversations from the next room so clearly, you could almost join in. 😬😬
