Premiere Classe Toulouse Nord - L'Union

We’ve stayed at other low-cost places without trouble, but the staff here couldn’t sort out any of the problems. Our non-smoking room had been smoked in so heavily it was hard to breathe. They wouldn’t move us, saying guests in France smoke wherever they like and don’t follow the rules. We suffered through the night, and woke with sore throats, feeling as if we’d smoked six packs. The kids cried all night and had black lung that morning. The door wouldn’t lock or unlock reliably, which seemed like a fire hazard. We ended up climbing out of our second-floor window. The kids thought it was funny and cheered, and I even considered calling the fire department for a ladder rescue. The sink was missing the drain stopper lever, so I had to reach under it and pull the release by hand to let the water out. All the beds are singles, with doubles made by pushing two together. At least ours both sloped toward the middle, so my wife and I ended up on top of each other by morning. The floor had hair, dusty clumps, and bits of leaves and other debris. The shower water smelled of sulfur, and the broken sprayer had to be held in place because otherwise it sprayed high onto the wall. The free Wi-Fi was so bad I thought my old 300 baud modem couplers would be faster. It was basically impossible to do anything online. Thank goodness there was a window, or we’d still be trapped in there. If you stay, good luck, but you deserve better. Stay away.

A good hotel in a convenient spot near the river.

It’s what it is: a cheap bed for the night.

A good place to get some sleep.
