La Maison Blanche Uzès

The house is full of character and decorated with lovely taste, and our room fit its surroundings perfectly. We were warmly welcomed, and Marc was a friendly, attentive host who took great care of us. His cooking reflects his passion: inventive, refined, and delicious. La Maison Blanche is now one of our favorite places to stay. It’s ideally placed for exploring the Uzège region and beyond, and the house itself is peaceful and charming. The renovation respects the spirit of the region and is tastefully done. Marc welcomed us warmly and thoughtfully. We had an unforgettable stay at this charming guesthouse run by Isabelle and Marc. They welcomed us warmly and attentively, and our tastefully decorated room was quiet and very comfortable. Marc treated us to simple, delicious food, and we loved sharing their table. La Bastide d’Engras is a lovely little village, ideally placed for exploring Uzès and the surrounding area. Even with 40°C weather outside, the rooms stayed naturally cool behind their thick stone walls, so we didn’t need the air conditioning. They’re superbly equipped and very comfortable. Marc and Isabelle made us feel as if we were staying with friends, and the cottage is authentic and close to plenty to do, from canoeing and walks to artisan markets, the Chauvet caves, and Pont du Gard. Marc serves meals made with the best local products, while Isabelle makes excellent homemade cakes. Breakfast comes with flaky yeast brioches from an excellent baker and homemade jams. A real treat!
