Hôtel Restaurant Le Lachens

The breakfast was filling, and my little kid says the cakes were really good. They also liked the nuts and fruit, though breakfast could be tricky with a gluten allergy. They wrote: “Delicious food and very good service, and the location was great. I was only there for one night but really impressed. If you're passing through, check out this little gem. And if you like dogs, you can pet some cute poodles.” The tomato soup in the picture was my starter. My turn: this is a small, budget hotel in a quiet mountain village above the Côte d’Azur. The chef works incredibly hard and seems to do most things alone. The rooms are plain, but they do the job. Dinner was nicely presented, well cooked, and unpretentious, with simple ingredients and reasonable prices. The pork was very tender. I appreciated that the chef adapted the meal for our food intolerances. I didn't find the food unnecessarily complicated, as another reviewer did. A few garden herbs or wild herbs, maybe a flower on the table, would add a nice touch. Breakfast could also have soft-boiled eggs and hot water and milk for guests to serve themselves, though I couldn't eat the cakes anyway.
