Château de la Gressière

The pool was spotless and a lovely place to unwind after exploring, and you can rent ebikes to get around this beautiful corner of France. Alan and his team have made the place feel special, with thoughtful details throughout. Our spacious room in the chateaux had stunning views of the gardens and sea. The beds were very comfortable. Both the restaurant and breakfast were very good; breakfast has a limited selection, but it was enough and the quality was excellent. The restaurant is well worth trying too, with good produce and very reasonable prices. The cocktails were great, and the terrace was the best place to enjoy one in summer.

All the staff were cheerful, warm, and helpful, and I was completely happy with my stay. The place is gorgeous, with a beautifully designed building, dining room, and bar. My large room was lovely too, with a fridge, a great work space, and a wonderful view. I only wish I’d stayed longer. Merci beaucoup, c'était merveilleux.

We had a three-course dinner on the terrace and really enjoyed the inventive menu. The food was well cooked and presented, with most ingredients sourced locally, and it was great value. The building and setting are beautiful, and the attentive staff made the experience even better. We’ll be back!

The breakfast was delicious, with gorgeous croissants, bread, fruit salad, and coffee. Since it was quiet, we were asked to choose the night before, and although breakfast could have been brought to our room, we ate in the usual breakfast area. Our first-floor room was spacious, airy, comfortable, and freshly decorated, with a distant sea view, good WiFi, a kettle, tea and coffee, and a bright bathroom with lovely toiletries. The building and grounds are beautiful, with a lovely pool. The welcome was friendly, and the hotel had called a few days ahead to let us know its restaurant would be closed, giving us time to book elsewhere. There’s plenty of free parking on site, and it’s easy to find. It’s a short distance from Pornic, which can get quite busy, so this is a nice alternative to staying in town.
