10/10
La Bourboule was especially charming during our mid-June stay, which seemed like perfect timing. The hotel itself is cute and was empty while we were there. It’s very well placed, and the staff were genuinely helpful and nice. Our room had what we expected, and breakfast was great value for money. The WiFi worked very well, though it could be steadier, and I’d have liked more power outlets in the room. Modernising the place would help, as other reviews have also mentioned. From what we saw, it’s the best hotel in La Bourboule 😊.

Parc De Fenestre is right beside the hotel, which makes the location especially good for families. There are also some excellent bars and restaurants just a short walk away. I’d rate the setting five stars and the hotel itself three, so four overall. Our family room for four was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the indoor ground-floor pool kept the children entertained. The rooms vary a lot in standard: ours was fine, but the bathroom looked very dated. The hotel could use modernising and refreshed decor, and sometimes it was difficult to find a staff member.

We booked at the last minute, and the helpful hostess got us settled in. The place was bright, clean, and welcoming. Breakfast was a great buffet, and it’s well placed for a walk into town.

The rooms were roomy and clean, and the staff were friendly. I found the temperature only lukewarm, though, and I’m usually comfortable at 18 degrees. Driving there in the snow was a bit of a challenge, even with snow tyres.

The staff were very kind, and the view of the city and hills from the third floor was great. A very cute place.
