Chalet Cannelle

We've made this chalet our summer tradition for eight years, and the welcome has been wonderful every time. Lorraine and Andy point us towards hikes they've explored themselves, and the breakfast, service and rooms have always been excellent. This winter we finally tried a ski trip here too, and it was just as good. Five evenings a week, there was a three-course dinner with wines chosen to match, followed by cheese tasting. Andy's cooking is remarkable, with carefully chosen ingredients brought together so thoughtfully that the meals felt Michelin-star worthy. We plan to keep coming back each year. The hospitality Lorraine and Andy provide is hard to find elsewhere.

Getting to ski at Châtel was easy: Lorraine and Andy drove us to whichever lift we wanted and picked us up at a time that suited us. Avoriaz and the surrounding area were easy to reach too. Inside, the chalet is beautiful, with thoughtfully chosen furniture and details throughout, and it felt both comfortable and inspiring. We were also made to feel genuinely cared for. Lorraine and Andy are welcoming, gracious and knowledgeable, and the whole team was warm and attentive. The food was another highlight. Andy's dishes were full of flavour, beautifully presented and paired with fine wines, at a level I'd expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. From the moment I arrived, the place felt like much more than somewhere to sleep after skiing. Every detail seemed carefully considered, and the standard was unlike anything I'd experienced before. I've now stayed four times, and I'm already looking forward to coming back.

We spent a wonderful summer at Chalet Cannelle. Each morning, Andy and Lorraine served a delicious homemade breakfast, and their local tips helped us make the most of exploring Châtel. They clearly love the area and care about serving great food. The chalet is a comfortable, stylish place to unwind, with lots of thoughtful touches. Outside, there was plenty to do, from hiking and mountain biking to taking the gondolas and chairlifts. Chalet Cannelle and its mountain setting made for a really special stay. We can't wait to return in both summer and winter.

After busy days outdoors, sitting down to dinner at Chalet Cannelle was such a pleasure. The food was outstanding, better than at most restaurants we've tried here, and the views are gorgeous too. Andy and Lorraine were great hosts, knew the area well and were happy to help with anything we needed. The property is kept beautifully, and the beds and bathrooms feel luxurious and newly renovated.
