With the restaurant nearly empty, about ten tables, we were still turned away by a woman wagging her finger at me and saying it was lunch service only, with no drinks. There were five of us, so I guess I should be glad we saved the money, but at 33 degrees, that wasn't much comfort.

They were happy to have cyclists, which mattered to us. PizzaTrattoria wouldn't take us, and they lost the business of all four of us. The prices here were fair too, and the food was better than at the places nearer the waterfalls.

We only ended up at this auberge because it's so close to the waterfalls. The food was bad, and the restaurant had flies everywhere. We didn't see that anywhere else during our two weeks touring the region. The breakfast staff were friendlier than the restaurant staff, but breakfast wasn't any better. I'd suggest staying and eating somewhere else.

Chaimae deserves a special thank you. The staff were courteous and very professional throughout. I also loved the riad itself, which was beautiful, comfortable, and well maintained. My suite was bigger and more luxurious than I'd expected, right by the roof terrace with unbelievable views. Riad Fes exceeded my expectations, and I'd highly recommend it.
