Azureva La Clusaz Les Confins

The food was four-star quality, with a fantastic choice of delicious, healthy dishes and no expense spared on the quality or variety. We were the only English family among around 50 French families, but everyone greeted us warmly and we never felt out of place. I'd call the rooms and shared spaces two-star, since they're not luxurious, but everything works and is comfortable. For an active holiday, that was fine. Absolutely brilliant and highly recommended.

We spent four days skiing, three in La Clusaz and one in nearby Le Grand-Bornand, and would happily stay here again. For a four-night half-board trip, it was just right. The ski area was close, especially La Balme, which we could see from our bedroom and enjoy the views of. Breakfast and dinner had lots of good choices, very French in style, with enough for vegetarians too. Afterwards, there was a nice bar and a lounge with an open fire, plus a games room with pinball, air hockey, pool, and table football. Different entertainment was offered each night if you wanted to join in. The mix of guests included plenty of locals, which made it feel authentic and was nice for mingling. Staff were lovely, friendly, informative, and helpful, and checked that everything was going well. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

I spent Christmas at Azureva and would definitely return if I come to La Clusaz again. The quiet location has a wonderful view, and the ski bus stops right outside, making it so easy to get to the slopes. As a solo traveler, I was especially touched by the staff. Eva, thank you for the recommendations and information. Mandison, thank you for making the nicest Blanc Chaud I've ever tried.
