Odalys Résidence et Spa Mendi Alde

Our family of five stayed in a spacious, clean and comfortable two-bedroom apartment in block A. It was warm and quiet, with a double bed, twin beds and a pullout sofa bed. We had two kitchens and two bathrooms, plus a lovely mountain view from the balcony. The ski lift and restaurants were close by, and the shop was a 10-minute walk away. Ski lockers were available, though we booked lockers at the ski lift. We appreciated being able to preorder fresh baked breakfast items at reception.

We booked three rooms for six people for four days and three nights. The sofa bed was poor and creaked at night, and the room heaters didn’t always work. The blankets were dirty, used and dusty. There was no shampoo, conditioner, body wash or even spare toilet roll, so we had to keep asking reception. Despite the high price, the swimming pool cost extra. All the indoor games and entertainment were paid, and even the coffee pods cost money. We got just two free pods for a four-day stay. There is indoor parking. The sauna and pool were good, dinner at the hotel restaurant was amazing, and the area is quiet, calm and beautiful.

The facilities, service and experience were horrible. Our room was full of black mold. We complained at reception and asked to check out, but they refused to refund us. It felt more like a one-star hotel, and even that seems generous. Don’t waste your time or money.

The reception team and other staff were brilliantly helpful, and we’ll return. The rooms are an ideal size. The slopes are close, and the town is within walking distance with all the amenities you need. The indoor pool is for spa use and costs extra for a two-hour slot. We enjoyed it and thought it was worth paying for.
