Appart'hôtel Perle de Ré

We only stayed one night, and it worked out fine. The staff were nice, though breakfast was below average. The rooms looked good but felt very damp, and the cleanliness was just okay. The hotel is tucked behind bars and restaurants near a campground, so the approach isn’t very inviting. Still, a nice beach is just a short walk away, though it was crowded.

The fold-out bed could be a problem if you’re staying several days, since there’s barely room to open the door. Still, for the reasonable price on ile de re, the location is hard to beat. There are several places to eat right behind the apartment block, and more choices, a bakery, a fish store, and local shops selling clothes or decorations in the cute little village a few minutes away. You can explore the other parts of the ole easily, and bicycle rent is a five minute walk away. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed, plus a cute little terrace for good weather. It’s right behind the sea. The access street is hard to spot, tucked by a camping, but look for the playground with a basket ball court, then continue to the white gate and check in at reception. The lady there was very friendly and let us into the room more than two hours early, merci beaucoup! Some pictures of the beach area included.

The staff and the location have us planning a longer return next year. We were sad to leave. From the moment we arrived, everyone made us feel welcome. We got the code for the secure parking, our room key, and a key for the beach door. The beach is only a three minute walk away. We stayed on Ile de-Ré in 2019 and loved the island, but the place we stayed then wasn’t a great experience. We decided not to judge the area by that one visit, and we were right to come back. For the room we had, I’d suggest adding a small coffee table near the power point for the electric kettle, along with two comfortable chairs by the window for reading. They don’t need to be big or overstuffed. We loved our stay. Thanks guys.

Very clean and nicely equipped, with really friendly staff who were happy to help. A lovely place for a couple of days.
