Le 2 by Hotel Akena La Ferte Bernard

Excellent restaurant.

Good value for money.

The location right by the highway was loud, and the place wasn't in great shape. On the second night our room key stopped working, and there was nobody in the building who could help. We called and waited nearly an hour late at night for someone to come break our door in and then fix it, instead of going to bed. Our kids were put in a room at the far end of the long hall from us. Who does that? The man on duty for night check-in was unpleasant and made us feel out of place. He didn't like that we'd booked through booking.com. His boss hadn't passed along what she'd discussed with us, including the quiet second-floor rooms she'd promised. We could hear loud footsteps and doors banging for hours into the early morning. Very bad management, location, and upkeep.

The restaurant staff were first-rate, smiling and friendly, and the way they described the dishes made us eager to try them. We enjoyed everything from appetizer to dessert. Our room was spacious and clean, and a very courteous young man gave us a warm welcome on arrival. I highly recommend the hotel and restaurant together, especially for a romantic evening.
