The only thing this place had going for it was the friendly service. The smell of old, stiff socks hit us, and the food was bland. For a 16-euro starter, I expected better than unwashed salad with gravel in it and foie gras served ice cold. The 32-euro main was worse: black braised beef tenderloin with a completely unambitious garnish. Such a waste of a good ingredient and the money. It was dog food. Thankfully, we skipped dessert. Go to a café for better food than at RESTAURANT LE CASTEL at the Château des Bondons. Honestly, run the other way.

The view was stunning, and the place itself was beautiful. Our host was so friendly, and made us a great breakfast in the morning.

The gate was shut and they wouldn't take guests. They didn't speak English, and the place wasn't maintained.

After a pleasant walk around the grounds, we sat in a lounge overlooking the park for an aperitif. Dinner came with another view of the park, and the dishes were excellent. The bedding was high quality and it was peaceful, so we slept well. Breakfast was very good, too. The service was truly excellent throughout. Pure bliss for a very reasonable price, and I highly recommend it.

We loved every minute at Château des Bondons, where we celebrated our wedding this weekend. The rooms, beds, food and wine selection were all wonderful. The team made the whole day special, from the planning and advice to the welcome we received. Thank you all. We'll be back very soon.
