L'Escale Dordogne

Even with the weather, we managed to use the lovely pool once during our five nights. Wilma brought breakfast to the little outdoor terrace every morning with a smile, even behind her mask. There was plenty of variety, including homemade yogurt and jams. She was very attentive without being overbearing, and it’s clear she loves hosting. As someone who works in the hotel and restaurant industry, I really value that kind of empathy. Jean, her husband, is just as friendly, even though his French isn’t as fluent. A perfect stay, and I highly recommend it.

We had a good meal at the restaurant, and the staff there, along with the manager and hotel staff, were all very friendly. They responded quickly when we had a minor issue with the air conditioning. Our room was fine for the reasonable price, and our two Siberian Huskies were welcome. The hotel is conveniently located just off the highway. We had an excellent two-night stay and will be back. The only letdown was that breakfast didn’t include pain au chocolat. Everything else was perfect.

The breakfasts were varied and such a treat, and the place was very clean. The owner was attentive and quick to respond while still giving us space. We had a wonderful stay at this bed and breakfast. Do try the evening meal, you won’t be disappointed. I highly recommend it!

The owners were so friendly, and the garden is beautiful, with a pool. Everything was very clean. We had a delicious breakfast and got lots of helpful tips. Definitely recommended!
