Fortified French Retreat

Mind your head at the front door! The building is truly ancient, and Vikki and Pete have restored it beautifully. The rooms and food were great, and the hosts made us feel very welcome. Five stars all round, and I’d highly recommend staying here, whether you’re passing through or planning a visit.

We spent 10 nights here, and Vikki served something different every time. The food was fresh, delicious, and consistently high quality. She gives Pete credit for the cooking, though I’m sure his advice helped. The garden is a relaxing spot, and the dining room is outstanding. It’s a cosy place, refurbished to a high standard, with a warm, friendly welcome. Pete’s great company in the evenings, too, and keeps the drinks coming.

We loved our stay and only wished we could have stayed another night. The farmhouse was beautifully presented, with lovely pets to fuss over. Pete and Vikki were great hosts and good company. We ordered dinner, which was delicious and well cooked, and breakfast was just as good. Sharon and Chris

The owners are fantastic, and the evening meal we tried was fantastic too. There’s a small campsite attached to the B&B, with use of the house facilities while a dedicated toilet block is being built. It’s dog friendly, and there’s good walking nearby. We’d definitely recommend it and return if we’re passing this way.
