Chalet Philomena

We had a fantastic stay at Chalet Philomena with friends in summer 2021. The chalet feels wonderfully secluded, with full privacy, beautiful mountain views and nature all around. From the wooden terraces, we could enjoy sunshine for most of the day. Hiking trails start directly at the chalet, so we could head out for breathtaking views of Mont Blanc and nearby mountains without driving. Chamonix, Annecy and its lake are about an hour away by car, with other towns and attractions closer by. Getting to the chalet means tackling a long, steep slope, so a 4x4 is essential. The Can-Am supplied with the rental made the trip easy and wasn't an inconvenience. Inside, the restoration and decor are tasteful. The lower floor has several bedrooms and bathrooms arranged conveniently, while upstairs there's loads of room and a few cosy corners. Modern comforts were all there, including good wifi, a large TV, books and games. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of workspace, which made cooking for a big group easy. Emmanuelle and Thomas were lovely hosts, friendly and quick to answer questions. We'd happily recommend staying here.

We loved how much there was to explore on foot, with local trails offering great views of the mountains and Mont Blanc. The scenery changes depending on whether you head down the gorge toward the Megeve valley or cross the col toward La Clusaz. Emmanuelle and Thomas have made a luxury chalet feel at home in a completely rural setting, blending rustic character with modern comforts. Their warmth and generosity were a real pleasure, and you could tell they love welcoming guests and sharing the area. Everything felt thoughtfully arranged, from the welcome package and activity tips to regular updates about local events. Highly recommend!

The views all around Chalet Philomena are spectacular, and the place was very well equipped. We rented it for a week last July and had a great time. The hosts were excellent to deal with, from booking right through to our departure, and they shared some great activity tips during our stay. I can highly recommend it.

The 4x4 journey up to Chalet Philomena was an adventure on its own. Once there, we enjoyed a spacious, modern and fully equipped chalet, surrounded by nature and incredible mountain views. It was wonderfully peaceful, and the sauna was just the thing after a day on the slopes. We had an unforgettable stay.
