Hôtel Thalasso & Spa Les Corallines

The spa facilities left us uncomfortable from the start. It felt like an old hospital, with cramped cabins and long queues, and when we were even 5-10 minutes late, no one would help because the place was overcrowded. The whole facility smelled damp, the walls and floors looked dirty, and dirty ventilation covers were falling down. The jacuzzi was strange: my husband and I were put in separate, windowless little cabins, sitting alone in lukewarm water and looking at dirty walls while staff talked nearby. The only indoor pool open was packed, musty, and had very limited hours. Both the large indoor and outdoor pools were closed. The sauna was tiny and unbearably dry, the hammam smelled awful, and much of the place seemed broken or falling apart. Treatments were just as disappointing. No one seemed to know where the hot stone massage was, and the directions were confusing. I said clearly that stones shouldn’t go on my face because of recent Botox, but the therapist did it anyway. Then, without warning, she poured far too much hot oil into my hair and ruined my extensions. Pressotherapy felt ineffective too: the equipment was ancient, we had to wear old compression socks, and six people were crammed into one room. The room was outdated as well, with mold in the bathroom and a broken tap. I also got food poisoning from breakfast at the hotel restaurant. This romantic spa weekend was a gift from our parents, and the pictures had promised a luxurious retreat with “30 years of luxury.” In reality, it felt like 30 years without renovation. Young couples looking for a romantic spa break should stay far away. One star.
