We had a great time exploring the area and its long sandy beaches, and would happily come back. The restored Glatigny Farmhouse is in a lovely quiet spot, with lots of interesting decor details to notice, especially the wonderful floor tiles. The barn and garden had plenty to enjoy too, from table tennis, darts and bikes to the outdoor pizza oven and courtyard dining space. The kitchen was well equipped for a rental, which we appreciated.

The only thing to bear in mind is that the stairs to the top bedroom are steep, so they may be tricky for anyone less agile. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay. The village people were welcoming, and we had good weather for eating outside every day. There are three different outdoor areas, and the space is excellent. The kitchen has everything we needed. Denville is about 5km away, with a lovely boulangerie open from 7am for fresh bread and croissants. We'd definitely recommend it.

It's an easy walk from the quiet, restful village down to the English Channel, or Le Manche if you're French. We spent a week at Glatigny Farmhouse and hated having to leave. The hosts were friendly and easy to deal with, and the house is so comfortable and well furnished. They've also put together lots of helpful notes about the home, local activities, and places to go. Do take a look at the renovation book while you're there, the work was clearly a labor of love. We'd love to return.

The nearby beach is a huge, wide stretch of sand that seems to run on forever. There are bikes available for the short ride there, plus table tennis and a pool table that can be set up in the garden, so summer would be especially good here. We stayed for three nights in October and had a wonderful time. We thought a stone house might be chilly, but the underfloor heating kept it warm and snug. The restoration is beautiful, with little touches that give the house its own quirky character. We'd definitely come back.

The nearby beaches are amazing, and the towns are easy to reach, making the farmhouse a great base for exploring. We loved the barbecue and fire pit too, and spent several evenings outside looking at the stars. I've never seen skies quite like that. The place is gorgeous, beautifully restored, thoughtfully decorated, and really well equipped. My husband, our one-year-old, and I had such a good week at Galtigny farmhouse. Thanks to Sam and Francesca for being so welcoming and helpful, and especially for helping us get back the baby monitor we'd foolishly left behind. That was above and beyond.
