If you want a grand hotel, this probably isn’t the place. The rooms are basic and a bit dated, and cleanliness was average. But the food was excellent despite the limited menu, and the house white wine was good too. The manager was reserved but kind and helpful. Best of all, the beds and blankets were incredibly comfortable. I haven’t slept ten uninterrupted hours in years. The value for money is unbeatable, and if I’m in the area again, I’d stay here without hesitation. August 12, 2017.

Breakfast was only bread, jam, and slices of “Carrefour” brioche...!!! The meals and drinks cost too much for what you get, even compared with places at 2500m altitude. The couple were nice, but that wasn’t enough to make up for it. Our room was mediocre at best, dirty, and had poor bedding. Nobody checked on it during our stay: the bed wasn’t made and the small, mismatched bath towels weren’t replaced. The amenities felt more like a guesthouse or mountain refuge than a hotel. Maybe a mountain refuge would be more suitable, but even then...!!! If you’re expecting a hotel holiday, go somewhere else. Stay in February 2015

The welcome was really friendly, and the home-style cooking was good. Valmorel resort is easy to reach by gondola. It’s a quiet, friendly hotel, and I recommend it.
