We came for the cycling, and the Routes des Cretes starts right outside. La Palud is only about a kilometer away, with little shops selling local goods and places to eat. The staff don't smile much, but they were helpful and let us store our electric bikes inside. Our first-floor room had low roof beams that I kept nearly hitting my head on. At night, a strange humming from some electrical device could be heard throughout the room, which would bother anyone sensitive to sound. I also missed having a kettle.

We had dinner at the restaurant two nights running because the food was tasty and inexpensive. Everyone working there was welcoming and kind. Just book ahead, as they stop accepting diners after 8 pm.

Friendly service and a rustic feel. The menu is small, but it works well as a stop when you're visiting the Verdon Gorge.

The views were lovely, and service was quick. The staff were really helpful too, and the food was amazing.

That burger was phenomenal. The scenery was great too. We paid about 60 euros for three burgers, a small serving of fries, a cola and a liter of water, so it felt a little pricey. Still, we had a really nice time and thought it was worth it.
