Chalet Mont Soleil

The view is sublime, the living areas are spacious, and the beds were comfortable. The chalet is decorated beautifully and looks welcoming at first, but it doesn’t feel like a "luxury" rental anymore, despite costing over €10,000 a week during school holidays. The owner seems to give little attention to maintenance. We booked with the jacuzzi in mind, especially for the non-skiers in our group. On arrival we found it broken, and only after asking were told it had been out of order for three weeks. Nobody had warned us beforehand, which was a huge disappointment. There were many other problems: the coffee machine had no capsule holder, the curtains were torn at their fasteners, paint was peeling, the gas fireplace barely produced a tiny flame, only one of the two boot warmers worked, the Wi-Fi was out, and several spotlights were burned out. It may have been a "luxury" chalet five or ten years ago, but it no longer feels that way. One thing to know before driving there: it’s at the end of the hamlet, and when there’s snow, snow gear is essential to get down to the chalet.
