Motel Les Bleuets

I booked well ahead for our trip, but the hotel cancelled my reservation because I paid before midnight UK time, but not before midnight French time. They then wouldn't honour the original booking. The customer service was a very bad experience, and I found it morally wrong. I wouldn't recommend staying there.

The owner was very helpful, and the place was comfortable. There's free parking on the property, about a 15-minute walk from the centre.

This felt far better than a motel. The room had everything we needed, was fresh and very clean, and even had facecloths, which was a surprise in Europe. The rainfall showerhead was a nice extra. Breakfast was a good standard French breakfast. It's a 15-minute walk downtown. When it was pouring with rain in September, though, parking in the town centre was easy to find.

The rooms were clean and modern, and a garage was included. We were running late for check-in, so we called the hotel and got really good service. They put the key in a keybox and left a computer-printed note explaining everything. That took a lot of stress out of worrying we'd arrive too late, especially since we'd already had car trouble.
