Hôtel de Paris

We loved the central location, the lovely rooms, and the fabulous hosts and staff. Jessica’s English was perfect, and she was professional. The hotel is spotless and very well run, and the freshly baked breakfast items each morning are not to be missed. We’d definitely recommend it and would be happy to stay again.

We had a beautiful room looking out over town, and Jessica was a wonderful host who was happy to help with anything. She generously recommended some of the best restaurants, just a few minutes away. The hotel sits in a fantastic spot between Place de Verdun and the Old Town Harbour. We’re looking forward to another stay at Hotel de Paris.

Jessica and her mother Alexia made me feel welcome throughout my 11 nights in early autumn. They speak French and English, responded whenever I asked for extra towels or toiletries, and helped me with directions. Daily housekeeping was provided. I had a small, cozy, recently renovated room with a French balcony, a large bed, and the essentials. The hotel website lists room sizes clearly, so I knew what to expect. My room was on the top floor, which was fine for me. The vintage staircase wasn’t too steep. There’s no elevator, which may be an issue for guests with limited mobility, but it wasn’t a problem for me. I felt comfortable and safe. The hotel observes quiet hours at night, and guests were respectful. It’s on a well-lit street in the evening and a lively one in the daytime, about a 10-minute walk from the city center and Old Port. A large market, street vendors selling cheese, pastries, fruit, vegetables, clothes, and more, and several cafés are nearby. More cafés are on the neighboring streets. Rooms look onto either the courtyard or the street, with a museum directly across from the hotel. The bus station, a pharmacy, and a 24-hour grocery store are a three-minute walk away. The entrance is well lit, and the front door is locked from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Guests can enter with a code during those hours. Public areas have security cameras, and there’s also an inner courtyard. Breakfast is available for an extra fee.

This family-run place has old-style charm, a lovely homemade breakfast, and a very nice courtyard with outdoor seating. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Highly recommend it, and I hope I get to come back one day.
