Maison d'Hôtes La Honas

The hikes around here are beautiful, and the surroundings are wonderfully peaceful, with nature all around, birds and flowers by day and stars at night. The building itself is magnificent. Isabelle and Emmanuel, the owners, made us feel so welcome, and Isabelle is an exceptional cook. Everything was perfect. Thanks again for such a warm welcome.

The forest nearby is great for walks, and there are plenty of other villages to visit from here. I also loved the night sky, and sometimes you can see deer from a distance. There may be short-toed eagles, other birds of prey, or even a vulture overhead. Isabelle and Emmanuel are incredibly kind and attentive. Isabelle makes delicious breakfast cakes and excellent meals, and their restaurant suggestions are great too. It’s a lovely choice for a peaceful holiday with lots of walks nearby. One thing to keep in mind: the rooms are in older buildings without adapted facilities, so it may not suit people with mobility issues or physical disabilities.

Emmanuel shares his enthusiasm for the local wildlife, plants, and history, and Isabelle brings such warmth, serving delicious meals outdoors with a lovely smile. The place itself feels like a little haven for anyone wanting peace and a close connection to nature. There’s lavender in the air, wind and trees rustling, birds singing, and a burst of daylight at breakfast, which is delicious. You almost want to keep La Honas a secret.

We came across breathtaking, untouched nature and had a lovely time with Isabelle and Emmanuel. They welcomed us so warmly, and the setting was superb.
