Dinner was the standout for us. There was a different three-course set menu every night, and the food was outstanding. They also prepared completely separate dishes of the same high quality for someone in our group with a food intolerance. Since we were there over Christmas, we got three days of Swedish, British, and French festive dishes, a thoughtful touch. Breakfast had fresh pastries and a good continental spread of meats, cheeses, yogurts, and more. The staff were the best part of the stay. Though the team was small, they were warm, attentive, and professional, and spoke French, German, Swedish, and English, so communication was easy. Our room on the third floor was clean, comfortable, and warm, with a balcony looking toward the Serre Chevalier slopes. The bathroom was compact and well kept, with a shower but no bath. There was a hairdryer, though a fridge and kettle would have been handy with half-board. We'd been a little unsure about half-board because we usually self-cater, especially while traveling at Christmas, but the hotel quickly put those concerns to rest. Thanks for the hospitality. We'll be back.

I was happy to find that the hotel's logo is still in use when I looked it up online. I designed it with my old Rotring more than 50 years ago. Back in the late 70s, when I was a graphic design student in Portsmouth, UK, I spent winters in Serre Chevalier with my ex and her family friend, Monsieur George, who owned the old farm. He asked me to create the logo for his new hotel business. I also remember George making us rotisserie chicken with the old equipment that kept the chicken turning. I hope it's still there.

The old farm has been restored beautifully, and the rooms are clean, cozy, and welcoming. It's a stylish hotel that still feels rural, with lovely people and a large south-facing terrace. Highly recommended.

LGBT friendly 🏳️🌈🏳️🌈🏳️🌈 My husband and I had a great long weekend here. It's about five minutes from the lift and the rental shop with lockers, and has what you need for a ski trip. The staff were friendly and spoke English and Swedish. Magnus was especially helpful. The restaurant is well worth it, particularly on rotisserie night, which we went to twice. Tip: we found the overnight train from Paris and the local bus made the trip there and back really easy.

The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was comfortable. The building is interesting, though the shared areas don't get much sun and have no views. Food was okay, but if I want Swedish-style cooking, I'll go to Sweden. In France, I'd rather eat French food. Breakfast was below standard. The hot dishes were barely warm even when we arrived at 7:30, and by 8 they were cold. It was the same food every day, with no jam and the same uninteresting cheese. Another guest said it reminded them of generic Swedish hushållsost. Dinner had seatings at 18:30 and 20:30, and apparently many people found the later one too late. That left the morning staff dealing with a rush of guests trying to change their booking, and some couldn't get the time they wanted. I also missed having a welcoming place to sit. The restaurant doors were locked after breakfast, the bar and sitting area lights were off in the mornings, and before 16:00 you couldn't get a drink or coffee without going into town. The Swallow is a good alternative a few meters down the road, with friendly service, good food, and staff who speak French and English. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great if you want to feel like you're in France.
