We spent a fortnight here for alpine and Nordic skiing, and the location made getting around easy without a car. The cable car, Nordic loops, bus station, skating rink, pool, rentals, and boulangerie are all close by. Inside, it was quiet with very good soundproofing, and the apartment felt cozy, with a great mountain view, a comfy bed, soft lighting, and even board games. The main drawback was the cold. Heating above 18 degrees wasn't allowed, so we stayed bundled up indoors. Cooking also takes a bit of planning because there's no oven. The TV is small, has only French channels, and isn't a smart TV. Even so, we came away with a very good impression.

The ski area was nice, and we got some good snow toward the end of our stay. Our apartment was well equipped, and the host was very helpful. The residence is only a few minutes on foot from the cable car, with a pizzeria there and shops and a supermarket about a two-minute walk away. It was relatively clean, though dust or something in one bedroom set off my allergies a little.

The only real drawbacks were the urine smell in the toilet and decor that felt a little dated. Otherwise, the apartments were roomy and comfortable, with a separate bedroom and plenty of storage. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the location near shops and ski lifts worked well.

There are some nice little bars nearby, and it's an easy ten-minute walk to the old town restaurants. Parking was easy, and the slopes are a minute away by car or bus. The apartment itself was warm and practical, but basic. No WiFi, and the old television had neither Netflix nor Prime. Ours overlooked a road, and for the price I found it disappointing and expensive.

This is a decent place to stay in the centre of Serre Chevalier, about 5-7 minutes on foot from the ski area and 1-2 minutes from the few main shops and restaurants. The apartments seem to be individually owned, so upkeep and decor vary depending on the owner. Groups of young people sometimes party late, though security does its best to keep things under control. Value depends on the time of year, with school holidays and Christmas or New Year costing a lot.
