Résidence Club MMV Le Serra Neva

The shuttle buses were fabulous, taking us wherever we needed to go locally for free. Reception staff were nice and helpful, and the hire shop downstairs had extremely friendly, helpful staff. We also made good use of the option to order bakery food and collect it the next day. The apartment worked perfectly for us. The kitchenette had all the pots, pans, and cutlery we needed, plus a large fridge with a freezer section. The oven doubles as a microwave. They left a little washing-up liquid, cloths, and a tea towel. There was always hot water, and after a long day snowboarding we enjoyed the bath. The bed was really comfortable, and the blackout curtains were great. We liked the spa, though the steam room didn't seem to work, and the heated pool was warm rather than hot.

The photo was taken at 7:55, with people lining the corridor because everyone needed their bakery order before opening at 8. I don't understand why they couldn't leave the orders out for people to collect once ready. They say the pastries are fresh from the bakery, but they were cold, which made me wonder if they were from the day before. Getting around was another problem. The buses are supposedly every 20 minutes, but we waited 50, then got left at the opposite end of the village from MMV. MMV has a shuttle too, but it seems to assume everyone only needs the Pontillas lift. If you want a ski school other than ESF, you have to go elsewhere. There are only two restaurants: one is tiny and distinctly mediocre, and the other is impossible to book. There also isn't a shop for essentials within a ten-minute walk. The facilities are completely overwhelmed by the number of people here, and the infrastructure simply doesn't support what MMV has built. It took two days to get a duvet cover, and the bedroom hadn't been set up as a twin despite us asking three times before arrival. I know it's a budget option, but until the infrastructure is 500% better, I can't recommend it for a family ski holiday with children.

The ski room is superb. The hotel itself, though, was not great at all. I'd give service, cleaning, room size, common areas, and furniture 0/5. Breakfast, the evening bar and après-ski, including service, get 1/5.

The wellness area is pretty basic.
