The patio was a lovely spot to sit in the evening, and the food was excellent. It's well worth the drive if you're in the area. A fantastic place to stop for a meal, and one of the best I've had in France.

The food was the highlight of our unexpected New Year's Eve lunch. We had just been driving through the countryside and were surprised to find the place open, with such a warm welcome. The menu was interesting and the wine list very good. I ordered the Étouffe de chevreuil, braised deer seasoned with shallots and a little red pepper, with carrot purée and prunes, and it was excellent. My husband started with homemade terrine de sanglier, boar, also excellent, then had homemade ravioles filled with crab. Delicious. I chose the cheese selection, which was excellent too, and the apple tart was wonderful. We'll come back and keep recommending this lovely lunch spot.

The house cocktail was a sparkling drink with a hint of prunes, a lovely start to a magnificent meal made with local ingredients. The tete de veau alone was worth the trip, and the ravioli made with tortue topped it, with the most delicious cream sauce I've ever tasted. We also had a homemade cheese course with compote and a phenomenal dessert. It was expertly and lovingly prepared, and excellent value. If you're visiting Monflaquin, make sure to stop in for a meal to remember.

Marie Laure serves Michelin quality food made with produce from her own vegetable garden and local producers. The hosts were fantastic, friendly and attentive, and the facilities were great too.
