Comfort Aparthotel Bassin d'Arcachon

The rooms are spacious and very clean, though the decor feels dated. There’s free parking, and the place is very dog friendly, including for large dogs. For the price, it’s good value. You’ll need a car, I think, even if you like walking. We had ours, and the dune was an easy, enjoyable early walk with the dog. It’s about a 15 minute drive to the dune and around 35 minutes to Arachon town, where there’s plenty of parking. There isn’t much service beyond an easy, smooth check-in, and the staff didn’t know the area very well. On arrival we were told there were no nearby gyms, but we passed two within walking distance during our travels.

The futuristic look is fun, but breakfast was a real disappointment. There wasn’t anything hot, and it looked nothing like the photos. The apartment was fine, though the cutlery could be better.

This place is a long way from the landmarks, and it isn’t in Arhachon!!!! It feels like a fancy hotel for lorry drivers, set in a shopping centre village and business centre. Location! Location! Location!

The beef I had in their restaurant was a big, delicious piece. The place was pleasant, though there was too much plastic decoration.
