The pool was a real pleasure, glass-covered with sunlight coming through, clear water, and a peaceful, elegant feel. Sitting there, I could feel the stress go. The whole place felt elevated because of it. And I’m still thinking about those café pastries. Buttery, flaky layers that crunched just right, the kind that make you slow down over your coffee. We were talking about them hours later. Dinner at the brasserie was first class too. The Limousin cattle beef was fabulous, rich and cooked right. I’m from Texas, so I know beef. My lady had a massage and came back glowing and relaxed, like she’d been away for a week. That spa is serious business. I don’t impress easy, but this place earned it. If you want a true five-star stay, this is it, done right, no shortcuts. We’ll be back this summer. That’s a certainty.

We ordered a bottle of champagne for four before dinner, and it took a good 20 minutes to arrive. The glasses were wrong too. The service staff were very nice, but unfortunately seemed quite lost. What a shame.

Our kids loved the pool, and we felt very welcome with our little ones. The hotel has a lovely, relaxed feel with a touch of refinement, and the rooms are great. There’s an outstanding wine selection at Stan Smith's, and the staff are friendly. The concierge team was super helpful and very patient as our plans kept changing because of the kids. Pauline the babysitter was wonderful too.

The pool is lovely, the location is great, and every staff member we met was very friendly. We stayed three nights at the end of August. The rooms are rather small, though, and the overall price felt very high for the services and room size, probably because it was high season. Breakfast wasn’t what I’d expect at a 5* hotel and didn’t feel worth the price. There was no fresh-cut fruit or fresh juice, and only one kind each of yoghurt and cheese, among other limited choices. On our last morning the chef came out and offered freshly made dishes, including eggs and avo toast. At the pool, nobody proactively offered drinks or snacks, so each time we wanted something we had to go to the restaurant.
