Ibis Arcachon La Teste

We spent one night here with the family in early August. It was comfortable, convenient, and very good value. The only drawback was the location for getting around the Arcachon area, since you need a car.

The reception staff were warm and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, though the mats on the beds slide around. They tend to be warm, as do the beds, since the duvets are so thick and the air conditioning doesn't work well. When you drain the sink, an unpleasant smell comes back up, so the drains need bleaching. This needs sorting in all Accor hotels. The staff are very welcoming and helpful.

After a long overnight drive from Calais, it was great to find a clean, comfortable room and friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast had loads of choice and was excellent. This is our second time staying here on the way to Portugal. Our two dogs are welcome for a small extra charge, and there are nice walks nearby. We'll definitely stay again.

The reception team were particularly friendly, which is why I'd give this four stars. It’s handy for a night or two by the beach, with lots of parking, an okay breakfast, and a comfortable bed. Still, €330 for two August nights felt steep. The pool was shallow and cold, the room was small with no proper air conditioning, and there wasn't a proper English news channel on the TV. The hotel is tucked into a housing estate, too. Four stars feels generous.
