Villa du Pyla

You’ll want a car to get here, and the whole area is lovely. The apartments are brand new, roomy, and thoughtfully put together with quality furnishings. Little touches like the Marshall speakers and Dyson hairdryer made it a really pleasant stay. We tried two room types. The cheaper ground-floor one had no view and barely any light, so I wouldn’t choose it. The pricier option was smaller but much brighter, and I’d recommend that one. There’s a very good kitchen, but no washing machine or shared spaces, so it feels more like renting a studio than staying at a hotel.

The team were professional, and we really appreciated the bikes, beach umbrellas, and books they made available. The property itself is an impressive set of modern, luxurious studios with everything you need. Its spot beside a quiet local beach, between Arcachon and the dune du Pyla, was lovely.

We had a lovely time visiting outside the busy season, and the hosts were very friendly. The rooms were clean, though room service could have been more attentive for the price, especially with topping up the coffee and replacing used towels. Apart from that, all was good. Recommended.

Arcachon was lovely, and so was this small hotel. It’s peaceful, beautifully designed, and in a good location. The staff also arranged our transfers to and from the hotel seamlessly, which we really appreciated. Having bikes, locks, and helmets to use was great, they’re the best way to get around. Can’t wait to return.
