The location works really well, with the beach and Tartane village nearby, plus a parking space. You'll need a car. There are several restaurants, a surf school, and the La Caravelle trail, which is a must. The welcome was nice and the apartment was clean, though quite minimalist. One small drawback: an unpleasant smell meant we couldn't enjoy the balcony for a few nights.

We loved hearing the waves and wind in the palms from the bungalow, which sits right beneath the trees about 20 meters from the sea. The big covered terrace has a magnificent view. Inside, the living space is split over two floors, with a kitchenette, desk, and sitting room downstairs and the bedroom upstairs via a space-saving staircase. The bathroom is a separate downstairs room with a charming natural stone shower. Furnishings, especially in the kitchen, are minimal but sufficient. Getting hold of someone was difficult when we arrived and during our stay. The owner lives next door but was rarely around. Once we did reach him, he was very friendly and helpful. We booked this beachfront bungalow at Caribou Beach and thoroughly enjoyed our time on the Tartane Peninsula.
