Hotel French Coco

We loved the location, and the food was exceptional. The staff at French Coco were wonderful too, making us feel like family every time we interacted with them.

The breakfast buffet was below average, with hard bread and very few pastries. The rooms were noisy, you could hear neighbors through the walls, and ours had broken plaster and a door that wouldn't close. There was nothing in the fridge either. For the price, there's nothing special here. Don't waste your money!

Service was very attentive, and the food was fabulous. The chef's menu was full of flavor and made with fresh local ingredients. The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated, with generous private outdoor areas, some with plunge pools. It's a beautiful boutique hotel in a quiet part of Martinique. There are a few beach bars within walking distance, though a car would be handy for a stay longer than a day or two. A perfect place to start or finish a longer Caribbean trip!

The live music was fantastic, the musician was lovely, and the atmosphere felt romantic. The food was very good too, which made it a shame we couldn't enjoy the meal. We heard blatant racist remarks about the music from the next table, and I called them out. Our restaurant experience was awful. The server was incredibly rude and seemed to ignore us, while giving much more attention to people from mainland France. We waited 45 minutes for menus, then another 30 just for drinks, and spent three hours there having ordered only drinks and main courses. The hotel itself is lovely, and most of the staff were kind and friendly. The room was comfortable and pleasant despite misleading photos, but the listing was poor. We'd booked the largest room, advertised for three adults, and found very little space and no privacy. We expected some sort of screen door, rather than beds facing each other just a meter or two apart.
