This isn't a five-star hotel. It's a basic, no-frills place that does the basics really well. The location, just off the motorway in a semi-industrial area, makes it very easy to reach. If you're towing a trailer, getting into the car park is straightforward, there's plenty of room to manoeuvre and park, and the steel fence makes it feel fairly secure. We got a warm, friendly welcome at reception. Between a bit of French, hand signals and lots of smiles, we managed just fine. The room was plain and functional but immaculate, and the bathroom and shower were just as clean. The carpets, bedding and linen were spotless. The shower had loads of hot water and pressure strong enough to strip paint. Breakfast is served downstairs by reception from 7-10 am. It's a standard continental breakfast. At 9E per person, we felt it was the one part that didn't offer good value. There was nothing wrong with it, it was just basic. Checkout at 11AM was pleasant and uneventful, then we were back on the road. Reception isn't staffed all night, but there is a very late, after-hours check-in service, so ask about it when booking. The hotel is well placed for breaking up the drive between Bordeaux and calais, in either direction.

We found the hotel very clean and comfortable, with exceptionally clean, well-furnished rooms and secure, convenient parking. The owners were especially friendly and helpful. We had an odd problem with the large international booking site we used, which wasn't the hotel's fault, but they were so kind and willing to help that they eased our anxiety. Thanks so much, guys. We arrived around 20:30 on 1st March, and the room felt a little cold. The heater soon warmed it up and we were toasty. I found the mattress comfortable, though my partner prefers a softer one. Water pressure was a bit unreliable, perhaps due to a local problem, but it didn't spoil our stay. The lady spoke perfect English, which was a big help since my French is so rusty. It's easy to find and handy for the motorway. There's a Carrefour supermarket and reasonably priced fuel station just across the road, useful for continuing your journey. Dogs are welcome too. For the price, it was very good value. We were amazed it was only a Two Star hotel, as we've stayed in many three-star places that were less clean, friendly and comfortable. We'll always come back when we're heading to the UK or southern Europe.

A quiet place with a supermarket nearby, and the car was safe behind the fence. We stayed one night with our six-month-old baby and were able to use their kettle to make his milk bottle. Breakfast was what you'd expect for 6€. The owners were really nice. We'd definitely come back.

It's very easy to find, just about 2 km off the motorway, with automated check-in that's easy to use if you arrive late. The hotel emails the PIN with the booking. The beds were comfortable, though the decor is basic. For an overnight stop while driving across France or Europe, this place is excellent value for the price and convenience. What it offers is basic but perfectly sufficient. It's about an hour's drive from the midpoint between the France-Spain border and London.

We stopped for one night on the way down to the Vendée, and my granddaughter was poorly. The owner couldn't have been more helpful with that or the other domestic matters. Brilliant. They also gave us top-notch recommendations for local restaurants. Highly recommended, especially because the owner seemed to care.
