The hotel feels worn out and needs investment. The air conditioning didn’t work, a flashing light had masking tape over it, and there was mould on the shower grout.

I’d put this restaurant off for years, though I can’t really say why. Glad I finally tried it: the terrace is a nice spot for people watching and sea views, and the staff were very friendly, if a little slow. The food was pretty darn good, especially the oysters, the goat’s cheese tartare, and the best moules au Roquefort I’ve had anywhere. A nice time.

The rooms are very basic and badly need updating, so it’s probably fine for just a one-night stop. But if you’ve booked a sea view, the outlook is hard to beat: the hotel is right on the waterfront and has the best spot in town for Atlantic sunsets.

The staff were five-star friendly. The €4.90 cappuccino lost a star, though. It was black coffee with foam, when it was supposed to be an espresso with milk foam.

Lovely staff, tasty food, and fair prices. The duck was unbelievably tender. We’ll definitely be back. 🤤👏
