Ô Lac

The accommodation had everything we needed, and the location right by the lake is fab. We had an amazing, really relaxing time here and would highly recommend it.

I've been to Lacanau many times, though this time it was a stop on the way from northern Spain to Cherbourg. It was good to be back. O Lac is lovely, peaceful and secure. There's a choice of rooms, several by the pool, and even though the place is small and secluded, you don't feel bothered by other guests. The weather was good, and Alexandra, our excellent host, brought us a lovely continental buffet breakfast and an omelette pour deux outside our room. The rooms have shutters and can be locked at night. If you're driving, there's a private space in the gated car park next door.

The location is ideal, just a couple of minutes by foot or bike from the lake's main activities and restaurants. Lacanau ocean side is only 5km away, with a dedicated bike path through the forest. We stayed as a family of four, with children aged 6 and 9. The area was quiet, and there were different wooden games and books in the shared room. Alexandra is a lovely, super helpful host. The guesthouse reminded us of the Asian guesthouses we used to know back there. Breakfast was great, and we liked the outdoor area and swimming pool.
