Maison du Pays de Serres

We were keen to leave as soon as morning came, and skipped the breakfast that was included in the price. What a shame. The welcome from the hostess had been frosty, as if she was surprised and particularly disappointed to see people in their thirties at the door. We got only a brief explanation of the place and how things worked. When we went to prepare our meal, we were told it absolutely had to be eaten in the common room. We asked the owner how to use the dishes provided and learned that we were meant to serve ourselves from the buffet, but not from the private one. The owner had apparently been watching us, perhaps worried someone might steal a fork, and stepped in right away, speaking rudely and aggressively. We hadn't meant to offend anyone, we're well-mannered people, and were left speechless. Great atmosphere... There are better ways to handle that. This lady really ought to change careers.
